This is a commonly used ultrasonic sensor that detects the presence of obstacles in front and detects the detailed distance between the sensor and the obstacle.
Its principle is the same as bat flying, that is, the ultrasonic module sends out an ultrasonic signal that is very high in frequency and cannot be heard by the human body.
If the signals of these ultrasonic waves hit the obstacle, they will be reflected back immediately. After receiving the returned information, the distance between the sensor and the obstacle is calculated by judging the time difference between the transmitted signal and the received signal.
The sensor is compatible with various microcontroller control boards, such as the Arduino series of microcontrollers.
The sensor comes with a 2.54mm anti-reverse plug white terminal. When we use it, we can connect it to the MCU with DuPont cable.
To facilitate wiring, an expansion board is designed to make it fully compatible with this sensor and the Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller.
We only need to stack the expansion board to the UNO R3 MCU, and use a 4P double-head XH2.54 plug wire (anti-reverse) to connect to the expansion board, which is simple and convenient.

When we are doing DIY experiments, we often use the UNO R3 control board and other sensors/modules.
To facilitate wiring, our latest version is the sensor/module with a 2.54mm anti-reverse interface.
This sensor shiled is designed in order to be compatible with the latest version of the sensor / module interface.
When we use this board, we only need to stack it on the UNO R3 control board and connect the sensors/modules with a specific wiring, very simple and convenient.
As it is an anti-reverse interface and the line sequence is fixed, when the control board is connected to the sensor / module, the sensor / module will not be burned out due to the reverse wiring sequence.
For wiring easily, the expansion board connectors come with silk screen. The 3pin interface silk screen is generally G V S, and all of G on the expansion board represent GND, V represents the VCC (5V) interface, and S represents the digital port/analog port above the interface.
The left side of the 4pin/5pin interface has a corresponding interface silk screen. The two sides of the expansion board also have a 2.54mm female socket interface, and the wiring sequence is the same as that of the UNO R3 board. At the same time, the expansion board comes with a reset button, a reset button indicator (D2), and a power indicator (D1).
In order to facilitate the fixing of the expansion board on other equipment, the expansion board only has two 3mm diameter positioning holes.
